An Open Letter to AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson

19 May

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ADRIEL HAMPTON FOR CONGRESS
PO BOX 4851 WALNUT CREEK, CA 94596
(925) 895-3744

Dear Mr. Stephenson –

You don’t know me, yet. But I want you to know that it is time for you to sign a fair contract with CWA workers bargaining with AT&T. I am a candidate for Congress in California’s 10th district, and one of the strongest politicians in the Web 2.0 space. My networks can be used to spread the good news of a fair resolution to the CWA contract, or to point out the unmitigated gall of a company that made $12.9 billion in profit in 2008 trying to stiff its workers on health care costs.

Mr. Stephenson, you can be part of the solution, or part of the problem.

I join the CWA in calling for immediate passage of the Employee Free Choice Act, as well as the following goals:

We ask you to:

* Take the lead in helping to turn our economy around instead of copying the worst Wall Street behavior.

* Support the employees who make AT&T a success, and who help build today’s high tech infrastructure.

* Work with CWA for real health care reform. Americans want an economy that works for all of us.

Thank you.

Adriel Hampton is a journalist, Gov 2.0 and new media strategist, public servant, and licensed private investigator. He is running for U.S. Congress in the 2009 special election for California’s 10th District.
