Supporting Sustainable Base Reuse

17 May

Concord base eventToday I caught the tail end of a great community meeting in Concord, hosted by the Community Coalition for a Sustainable Concord. The group is advocating on the future of the Concord Naval Weapons Station, which has the potential to be one of the East Bay’s most exciting new communities.

The group’s principles for the the new growth are: open space; transit-oriented “smart” development; affordable housing and funding for homelessness services; a new Cal State campus and other public facilities; and strong support for labor, local jobs and a living wage.

Please check out more the base reuse, here.
